The Beginning of DFNYC

An Evening With Katrina Vanden Heuvel

11/14/2006

On November 14, 2006, DFNYC hosted our first An Evening With. It was a great evening with The Nation's editor and publisher Katrina vanden Heuvel. She gave us a wonderful speech about the post election political landscape and what comes next. You can catch the highlights of Katrina's Talk on her blog over at the The Nation's website.

She writes: On November 14, I was the guest speaker at the first of a new series of conversations with journalists, policy-makers and activists sponsored by Democracy for NYC--a local coalition group of Democracy for America, the organization founded by Howard Dean after his presidential campaign to channel grassroots energy into vehicles for social change. It was a spirited evening. I spoke briefly, see below, and then a lively Q & A followed.
